The guide

How to play

Capo City is a browser game. No wallet, no signup, no download. This page is everything the city will not tell you on its own.

Getting in

Open the city. You land on Vault Plaza as a fresh Associate with 500 CASH, a fedora and five needs that are already ticking down. Your progress saves to your browser — clearing site data resets you.

Set your name and pick a coat colour in the Your Soldier panel on the right. That name is what shows above your head and on the wire.

You do not need to hold $CAPO to play. The city is free and always will be. The token is the reason the skyline exists, not a key to unlock it.

Working the streets

Two jobs pay CASH. Both work the same way: get to the marker, then stand completely still while the ring around your soldier closes. Moving cancels the run and you get nothing.

🎲 Numbers routePavements across the city6.5s~130 CASH+4
📦 Dock workThe waterfront strip8.5s~190 CASH+7

Payouts scale with your level (+12% per level) and carry a random ±20% swing. Every finished run also gives 28 XP and 6 $CAPO points, and costs a little stamina and hunger.

Daily cap: 25,000 CASH. Once you hit it, jobs stop paying until the cap resets at midnight. The cap is per day, not per session.

Heat and the law

Heat is the price of working. It rises with every job and bleeds off slowly on its own — about 13 points every minute you are not working.

The fast way down is The Safehouse. Standing inside burns roughly 7 heat per second, which takes you from boiling to clean in about ten seconds. It also tops up your loyalty need.

Needs and stations

Your soldier has five needs. They all drain at the same slow rate and none of them will kill you — they are a reason to move around the city rather than stand on one marker forever.

Walk into the building's block and the bar refills while you stand there. Talking on the wire also nudges your fun back up.

The black market

Nine items, fixed supply per season, bought with CASH. Some are cosmetic, some change how the city treats you, and the top two are trophies.

At the daily cap of 25,000 the Golden Tommy is roughly eleven days of disciplined work. It is meant to be a season-long goal, not a weekend one.

Daily jobs and streaks

Five jobs reset every day at midnight:

  1. Finish 3 street jobs — 30 points
  2. Visit 2 boss towers — 20 points
  3. Check in at the Vault — 25 points
  4. Lay low at the safehouse — 20 points
  5. Send 5 messages on the wire — 15 points

Logging in on consecutive days builds your streak. Miss a day and it drops back to one.

Ranks and points

XP moves you up the ladder: Associate → Soldier → Enforcer → Button Man → Capo → Underboss → Consigliere → Boss. Higher levels pay more per job.

XP and $CAPO points are in-game progression only. They are not the token, they are not tradeable, and they are not a claim on anything.

The board and the pot

The ten towers ringing the plaza are the top ten traders of the season. Tower height is rank — number one gets the tallest, brightest block. The plaque floating above each tower shows the handle and live PnL; the sidebar shows their cut of the pot.

The golden obelisk in the middle is the Vault. It holds the season pot and the countdown to payout. At the end of the season the pot splits across the top ten, weighted by rank.

Until a live leaderboard feed is connected, the city runs a simulated season so there is always a skyline and a pot. The panel says DEMO SEASON while that is the case.

Turfs and the wire

The Turf field in the header is a world seed. Type a different word and hit Enter to generate a completely different city — different street layout, different tower placement, different leaderboard. Share your turf name and other people land in the same city you did.

The Wire is the chat box at the bottom. Locals talk on their own; type to join in. Five messages clears a daily job.

FAQ

Do I need a wallet?

No. The city never asks for one and never will.

Where does my progress live?

In your browser's local storage. Same browser, same device, same progress. Clearing site data wipes it.

Is the chat real multiplayer?

Not yet — the wire currently runs locally with the city's own residents talking. Live multiplayer chat and presence arrive when the backend is switched on. See the docs.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Tap to walk, pinch to zoom, and the ☰ button opens the side panel.

When is the token?

$CAPO launches on pump.fun on 12 August at 5:00 PM UTC. The contract address goes up on the home page and the pinned post on X at the same moment. Anything posted before then is a fake.
